Wow, what a full moon to be having this 31st October! Not only is it a Blue Moon (the second full moon for the month), but it’s also happening on Halloween (spooky!) and it will be very, very closely conjunct Uranus, at 8 degrees of Taurus.
What is a full moon in Taurus all about? Releasing whatever it is we’re holding onto too tightly. When we’re latching onto the more negative aspects of Taurus, we’re being stubborn, and stuck in our ways, and it’s holding us back from finding and connecting with the best aspects of Taurus, which include embracing our own values and realising our own self worth.
Uranus has been hanging around in Taurus for awhile now, and Uranus pushes us, without asking, to liberate ourselves, always. If we won’t do it ourselves, then Uranus comes along and surprises and shocks us, giving us no choice but to face what we need to face so that we can be truly free. On this full moon, you may be experiencing some shocks that force you to release whatever it is you’re digging your heels about. If you don’t take the strong nudge, then you may face the other side of Uranus, which unfortunately will mean some trauma is experienced.
The Sabian Symbol for this full moon is “A fully decorated Christmas tree” with the keynote being “The ability to create inner happiness in dark hours“. Personally I laughed when I read this, because here in Europe, in Italy, I think we’ll be headed for exactly this sort of Christmas, where the inner Christmas glow will be a very personal affair. But what does this represent now?
I think the message is clear – this full moon you are being strongly pushed to release something that is holding you back from your own inner happiness, and something that you have been holding onto way too tightly, but you will see you don’t actually need in order to be happy.

1st house
With a first house Taurus, and perhaps even a Taurus ascendant, you may be known to be stubborn by nature. But you’re not stubborn because you like it that way, but because you think your greatest safety comes from holding onto your identity, exactly the way in which you’ve created it and now know yourself to be. But Uranus is going to show you that your view of yourself is too limited, and you need to be free of what is holding you back from true happiness. What is it about how you define yourself, how you see yourself and how you project yourself out into the world needs to be released so that you can find your greatest happiness?
2nd house
If Taurus is in your second house, you have a double dose of being very fixed and stubborn about your values and your money. You hold onto your own set of values and your money like the best guard dog around because you feel sure that this will ensure your ultimate safety. But are you truly happy? Watching your money constantly and protecting your values (and valuables) must be tiring. Uranus is pushing to let go of the reigns, to take that guard dog out for some fun and adventure, and to free yourself from being so stuck, and if you don’t, Uranus will do it for you. What is it about your money and how you tie it up with your self worth that needs to be released so that you can find your greatest happiness?
3rd house
If Taurus in in your third house, you no doubt hold firm to your opinions and sometimes have a narrow focus on what’s interesting and relevant to you. But this narrow focus is where you feel safe, because here you’re the expert, and your intellectual prowess goes unchallenged and undisturbed here. But aren’t you a bit bored? Don’t you want some new intellectual adventures? Uranus is nudging you to take an objective view of what you want to learn and why, what you want to talk about and why, and why you hold the opinions that you do. If you won’t take the hint, Uranus will thrust you into an uncomfortable situation. What is it about your opinions and intellectual focus that you need to release to that you can find your greatest happiness?
4th house
If Taurus in in your fourth house, you likely hold on tightly to your home, believing that your literal home is where you are safest. Also, your emotional life is probably somewhat buried, or at least a bit stuck, but those emotions can’t stay constrained forever. You may believe or have been taught that displaying emotions is unsafe, but they need to come out to be released. Uranus has been poking at your sense of safety surrounding home and emotions, and is asking you to liberate yourself from the notion that you need a home to be safe. Uranus is also poking at your emotions and maybe they’ve been escaping your body involuntarily over the past few years. What do you need to release this full moon that you have been resisting? How can you liberate your emotions and your sense of home so that you can find your greatest happiness?
5th house
If Taurus in in your fifth house, you likely stubbornly demand recognition and applause and tie your whole self worth up in whether people are really seeing you and noticing you. If you are not noticed, or if your contribution is not noticed and appreciated, and if people aren’t enjoying the show you’re putting on, then you feel a little worthless, and very unhappy. I think we can see that this is a vicious cycle that can never make you happy. And Uranus is here trying to liberate you from looking outside yourself for appreciation, and is asking you to objectively see how you can use your talents to satisfy your greatest creative desire. How can you release this need to be seen, thus releasing this false sense of where your self worth comes from, so that you can find your greatest happiness?
6th house
If Taurus in in your sixth house, perhaps you are quite stubborn about your routines, or quite fixed in the way you like to do your job, and indulgent when it comes to your diet and health. Too much fixed energy in these areas is holding you back from opportunities and new ways of doing things, and if there’s one thing Uranus doesn’t like, it’s old ways of doing things. So Uranus is pushing you to change and revolutionise the way you live your everyday life, but first you need to be ready to let go. How can you open up your routines and be more flexible, allowing your sense of safety to come from within rather than from controlling your environment? How can you release your stranglehold so you can be open to true happiness?
7th house
If Taurus is in your seventh house, perhaps you are quite fixed on what you want in a significant other, and what you expect from a relationship. Is it sometimes your way or the highway and you’re just not willing to do things any other way? As Dr Phil would say “How’s that working for you?” As Uranus comes along today on this full moon, it’s urging you to liberate from these ways of being that keep your relationships from evolving and progressing and definitely hold you back from experiencing true love and happiness. If you don’t do it yourself, Uranus will shock you with something unexpected that will make you face it head on. How can you release some of these modes of being and learn to open up to the flow of the relationship?
8th house
If Taurus is in your eighth house, you often get stuck in power plays between yourself and those closest to you. Perhaps you are often embroiled in drama of some kind or another. In this house you’re asked to transform, to lay the old you aside and let the new you emerge. And with Uranus here, the push is stronger, and if you’ve been hiding your head in the sand, withdrawing from everyone and everything to ensure your deepest self is safe and untouched, then Uranus is coming along to shake that up. Which parts of your deepest self do you need to let die so that you can evolve? Who do you need to learn to trust so that you can feel free and happy?
9th house
If Taurus is in your ninth house, you are pretty firm about what you believe and why and you’re not really interested in hearing what other people have to say, especially if you suspect they want to change your mind about something. And in the past few years Uranus has been here coming at you from right and left with full-frontal attacks challenging your beliefs and asking what truth really means, asking you to take an objective look. On this full moon Uranus will push you to face some beliefs that have been holding you back from happiness. After all, what’s the point of holding onto a belief if in the end it doesn’t bring you happiness? And do you really need others to believe what you believe before you can be happy?
10th house
If Taurus in is in your tenth house, you can be so singly focused on your career that you miss out on the rest of life. You put all your self worth into what you can achieve and how you can be recognised for your professional achievements that you forget that society and your role in it is far more than a career. Uranus has been challenging you to liberate from your career and liberate what your career will look like, but if you’ve been avoiding the nudges, then this full moon will bring something to make you face it head-on. If your career isn’t making you happy, especially if you’re basing your whole sense of self worth on it, then what can you release so that you can move towards the inner happiness that will sustain you?
11th house
If Taurus is in your eleventh house, you may allow your self worth to swing back and forth depending on how things are going with your friends. Or you may cling to certain friends, not because they make you happy, but because they make you feel safe in the familiar. Uranus has been trying to get you to meet new people, and rethink what true friendship really means, and if you’ve been ignoring the signs then this full moon is when you just may receive a shocking revelation. What can you release so that you can feel wholly safe in yourself and your own value, and then go out and find the friends that deserve you?
12th house
It Taurus is in your twelfth house, you may stubbornly lock yourself away inside and away from the world to keep yourself safe. Or it may be that you cling to the religion that you grew up with, holding onto a narrow view of what spirituality and faith means. Uranus has been pushing you to get outside of your self-imposed prison, no matter what this prison is made of, and to see how glorious and safe the interconnectedness of the universe truly is. If you’ve been dooming and glooming about it all, or refusing to look, then Uranus will force your eyes open this full moon. What can you release that is keeping you from diving into the ocean of life and enjoying it with all your senses? Can you take a leap of faith towards your ultimate happiness?
